My comment to abing who hates SEO Contest

I did a comment yesterday but he said he did not receive so better to post here for the sake of my comments..:) Good Day!

ok why don't we do it again... ang haba ng comment ko kahapon pang blog.. isaisahin natin ulit.... sana magaya ko ung ginawa ko kahapon.. :) all this stuff is my opinion.. ok..

If you came here via Google Search for the keywords “Hectic Capiznon Bloggers” then this rant is for you. Let me guess, you are part of this “SEO Contest” to push this particular set of keywords up in search result rankings. Think about what you are doing for a second. Do one better and ask yourself, “What am I doing? Is this SEO or is this spam?”

Yes I came here via google, searching for the keyword “Hectic Capiznon Bloggers” link: http://tinyurl.com/d64fw6 because I've heard that Duane is having a SEO Contest in Capiznon Community and I don't think this is a rant for me and your guess is wrong I am not part of this SEO Contest.. so this is not all about me though.. let's go on the next paragraph..

What is SEO? SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization. What it all boils down to is that you use optimization techniques so that your website shows up first in the search results when someone searches for a particular keyword using Google or Yahoo search. It is a legitimate practice that is not only allowed, it is also encouraged. Google engineers like Matt Cutts encourage good Search Engine Optimization techniques and practices because it makes Google Search better at providing people with relevant search results. The problem lies in some shady “SEO techniques” that subvert the system.

I agree on this. so nothing to say here... next paragraph please..(hinde ganto ung comment ko kahapon)

Personally I have no problem with SEO and SEO Contests in general. I have used “white hat” Search Engine Optimization techniques when building CMS-enabled websites. The new Django-based multi-user blog and content publishing platform I am working on has features geared specifically towards SEO. However, I do have a gripe against people who use shady practices for “SEO”. Practices such as link bombing, keyword stuffing, spamdexing, content scraping, and cloaking are not only bad form, they are harmful.

Some BH people use Bh technique for a living, and they love it. sometimes they are getting caught but they are still doing it.. why? because it's possible to make a good for this for a living.. hinde pag nanakaw to, it's a sysmtem problem where creative people can see a way how they can manipulate this. So system like google, Ebay, craiglist and other affiliate need to rectify this and that is their problem and not mine as well as not yours.I've tried all this stuff "link bombing, keyword stuffing, spamdexing, content scraping, and cloaking", have you tried it? SEO PROFESSIONALS TRIED ALL THIS? how did I know? because as a SEO Professional you need to know what will happen if you will do all this stuff. It comes in the Testing process and to aware yourself how search engine penalties who's doing this kind of stuff.. Google nga nag kakamali rin like Google Japan using Paid Links have you heard that? pero may magagawa b tyo wala google un e... :)

Pag nasubukan mo ang sarap gamitin nito lahat.. kasi matututo ka, matututo ka at matututo.. lalo ng CS sa mga affiliate hmm....

Most SEO Contests I have seen used a set of intentionally nonsensical keywords. The organizers of events who use nonsense keywords such as “Nigritude Ultramarine” and “Seraphim Proudleduck” understand that the actions of their contestants have the potential to pollute search engine indexes. There are some organizers who fail to grasp the importance of keeping search engine indexes free from bogus search results and intentionally use valid, and sometimes commonly searched, keywords for these contests.

“SEO Contests” which use valid keywords like this one for Hectic Capiznon Bloggers are particularly bad. I am not sure if the organizers of this event know it but the following keywords will also match “capiznon”, “hectic blogger”, “capiznon blogger”, “capiznon blog”, “capiznon blogger”, “hectic capiznon” and a few other permutations. From what little information that I have found on this particular contest, there does not appear to be any set of rules as to what SEO techniques are allowed/disallowed (if there are, please point them out in the comments). So what is stopping the participants of this contest from using bad “SEO” practices?

so panu naman mo i coconclude ung ibang SEO contest such as "Paradise Philippines", "Promotional items corporate gifts srednarb", "Globalwarming awareness2007", "Busby SEO Test", "seocontest 2008" ? are they polluting the serps? even though that no one searches on the key phrases? and how about your post here? with the key phrases "Hectic Capiznon Bloggers" as a title, friendly url, good onpage optimization with bold and quote included and you can be seen in SERPS, do you think you are polluting the SERPS even all your post is unrelevant to what people are looking for.. No right!! because..... All of you has the objective. Let's start from Paradise Philippines SEO contest by Marc Macalua who aims to spread the world how beautiful Philippines is, even you search Philippines as Paradise or even "Philippines is a Paradise" some entry from Paradise Philippines Contest appear because of the relevant keyword that populated to each post that they made.

How about Globalwarming awareness2007 the most biggest SEO contest by seoworldchampionship that most of the entry are BH, spammer and limited WH. are they polluting the serps even the results page of SERPS is 0?? nope right!! because their objectives is to aware people about globalwarming awareness, to let people know what is the meaning how we can deal with this. try to search "global awareness 2007", "global warming awareness 2007" some entry are in SERPS..

So last example is this post that you made that has irrelevant information about "Hectic Capiznon Bloggers". have you tried to search "capiznon blogger" "capiznon blog" "hectic capiznon" and other permutation, your in the serps dude.. then can I say that you are also polluting the serps for god sake..but I don't agree because your objective is to let people know that they should not pollute the serps and use WH only when doing SEO.

and of course so the others. maybe duanes seo contest aims is to aware the "Capiznon Bloggers" exist or other things.
Trust me dude walang kahit na anung Keyphrases at keywords na pag sinearch mo e ung hinahanp mo ang lalabas agad.. laging may irrelevant.. so problema na ng Google yun. pero kung kaya mong i resolve try to contact them or make a campaign..

Again I must stress: I have nothing against SEO and SEO Contests in general. But contests like this “Hectic Capiznon Bloggers” Contest pollute search engine results with bogus sites with no useful content on them whatsoever. For example. Search for the keyword “Capiznon” on Google. You will get only 1 relevant search result and it points to a Wikipedia entry. Capiznon is a valid keyword and it is something someone would enter if they were looking for information about the Capiznon Language. Instead of useful information about our cute little variant of Hiligaynon, you will get two pages full of irrelevant search results all pointing to this SEO contest. I will say it outright: You have just spammed the entire world with your nonsense! You have diluted the value of the word “Capiznon” with all this gibberish about a contest that no one really cares about.

Can i say that you are including in all this gibberish about a contest that no one really cares about. even you are not participant of this seo contest. Can I say that instead of useful information about your cute little variant of Hiligaynon, I can see your irrelevant post in page 13 of Google? nope right? read my explanation above..:P)

Piece of advice to anyone who wants to start yet another SEO Contest: DO NOT USE VALID KEYWORDS IN YOUR CONTEST!

Piece of advice to people (especially the students) who join these contests: take a look at what the contest requires you to do. If you are required to do a link back to a website, DO NOT JOIN! YOU ARE ALLOWING YOURSELF TO BE USED IN A SCAM! Why is that? Because there are some unscrupulous people out there who use these contests to push a domain ranking high enough so that they can later sell it at a premium price. Do not be fooled by contests like this. The prize money that they offer is chump change compared to the hundreds of thousands of pesos that they will probably get when they sell the domain later on.

I don't think requiring a link back to a website is a SCAM. I think right ng nag papa contest un na kung gusto mo manalo ng prize kailangan mo mag lagay ng link kung ayaw mo wag ka saumali.. BTW have you tried to join any SEO Contest? have you tried to win a SEO Contest competition.. Dude subukan m.. sarap ng pakiramdam.

And 1 more thing having an SEO contest does not mean they are going to sell the domain later on.. ung mga gumagawa nun trust me. noob.. funny to say un ang scam. hehehe..

I still insist those people that new in SEO field try to join SEO Contest even they require a linkback from your site why? because

1. You will learn, learn, learn.
2. Meet other people.
3. Will share more Ideas.
4. Get more Ideas.
5. You can see what is the Real SEO when you join in a SEO Contest

malay nyo manalo pa kyo.. ok tapos nko sa opinion ko sa post mo sa comment naman tyo...

@duane Duane you don't need to apologize dude.. his not google.. as long as legit contest mo at di mo iscamin ung prize.. go lang.. nyahaha
